Okay, I know I’m pretty late compared to most on this…but hey, I was in California for nearly three weeks, and I had it shipped to my home in Portland. Which I just returned to today. So…nyah.That said, I remain thoroughly impressed by Bandai’s packaging of
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I don’t normally buy box sets, but I enjoyed this show a lot and I’m constantly being thrown off my guard by Bandai’s stellar (and very in-character, as it were)
marketing of the series, and I really think they’re working their asses off to make sure it’s done well for the fans. So, kudos to them!My only complaint though, is the color of the headband. Compare the color of Bandai’s headband to the color of the one I made ages ago, and then if you can see it in the tiny picture, compare it to Haruhi’s. Mine’s way closer! I keep seeing these really dull matte yellows in the merch, but it’s really much more of a gold, folks. </nerd>
That said, a status update on the Yoko muffler.
Not everyone is into knitting, I know, so…
Yoko scarf is coming along nicely, largely thanks to a big chunk of anime catch-up last night (which I’ll post on tomorrow, maybe) and sitting at the airport / on a plane today.I just hope that I bought enough of this yarn. (Or that I can find more of it if I need to.) I’m planning on 8 blocks of the white, and it looks like each skein of this yarn will handle about 2, and I bought 4 skeins, so I should be good…hopefully.A few people asked me, so FYI: I am using “Limbo” superwash yarn by schoeller + stahl. The colors are 4510 (cream) and 4590 (vino). I am using them because they were the right weight, the right colors, and the right price - on sale, even. Apparently they’re hard to find though; it looks like if I need more of this stuff and I can’t snag it at my local yarn shop(s), I might have to import it from the UK. D’oh! So, cross your fingers for me.
Oh, and I’m also going to buy some foam paper and a barette clip at Michael’s to make me a little skull like Yoko’s. Just for the hell of it. ♥
