Summer 2007 Watch List

So my Summer Preview feature is up at work, which naturally gets me thinking about what I’m going to watch this summer. Above is the stuff I’m definitely interested in: Baccano!, Umisho, Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei, Zero no Tsukaima, Zombie-Loan, and Mushi-Uta.
Baccano! just sounds kinda fun, with the mafia and the alchemy and the 1930’s NYC stuff going on. Umisho…I’m surprised I’m even interested, since it looks kind of like Love Hina but with swimming, but I still want to check it out. I think because it looks like Love Hina but with a crazy chick instead of a dumb tsundere bitch for the female lead. We’ll see.
Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei just sounds like fun dark comedy, and of course I enjoyed season one of Zero no Tsukaima so I’ll watch season 2. I’m curious about Zombie-Loan, especially since Peach-Pit is getting so anime-heavy with Z-L and Shugo Chara! both being made into anime in the same year.
And Mushi-Uta looks kinda neat. I’m more interested in the humanoid mushi with the gun than in the green-haired moe chick or the normal dude though. So we’ll see.
On the second tier, “stuff I’m interested in but not sure about”: Buzzer Beater, Code-E, Doujin Work, and Shigurui. Also on this list are Higurashi and Tokyo Majin, but I didn’t watch the first season of either so I’m not really sure…
But as always, I want to watch at least as many first eps as I possibly can. Which should be easier, since there are fewer. Though I don’t know if I’ll get to (or if anyone will even sub) the kids’ shows, like Happy Happy Clover or Fight Tension School…

Oh yeah, and in SZS, it’s only when your write his name horizontally that the kanji seem to MAKE HIM HATE HIS LIFE OMGOMGOMGOMG!
Ah, just another reason I love those sorts of things.

What do you mean what I’m talking about? Haha.
In your aO article, you pointed out that his kanji combined to look like “despair.” But they only do that when written in the non-traditional horizontal style.

絶望 - Zetsubou
See, the multi-radical in the zetsubou only really makes sense horizontally when comparing it with the two kanji that make of Itoshiki. Vertically, it’s obvious that they’re not combined. Might want to up the font size a bit to make the mutli-radical clearer.

Oh, that’s just my passive aggresive thing I do. It’s not aimed at you. Just, there’s a lot of bloggers out there who seem to miss a lot of things here and there. SIMPLE THINGS!!! Largely cultural jokes and this and that.
And I really didn’t figure you meant the kanji, I am just a giant nerd and wanted to write it out.

On a side note, Buzzer Beater is not new, not unless they are resuming where they left off. The anime has been out for quite some time and I was pretty pissed after watching the last episode because it just seemed like it should’ve went on. But all the other anime in your top pics seem highly interesting, I cant wait to watch them.

Eh after looking at your site it seems you knew this and I misunderstood. So that means this is a remake of the one I know. Hopefully this time they actually get to finish the story and not just drop it when it really starts to get good.

I think *every*one is hoping the remake is better than the original…@_@;
