Ota07: Sailor Moon R(eturns)

Okay, time to take a bit of a nostalgia trip: remember Sailor Moon? I’m sure a couple of you join me in remembering it fondly as your “gateway anime,” right? And you may even remember that TOKYOPOP released the manga, waaaay back when it was called MixxZine.
MoonKitty.net reports from Otakon that TOKYOPOP will be releasing, or re-releasing, the manga. It’s a little unclear because there’s actually a new, slightly altered version out in Japan, so they we’re not yet sure if it’s that version or simply a re-release of the original.
Still, it’s kinda neat, no? All those fun baddies and lesbian subtext…oh yeah, baby.

Great to hear they’re finally rereleasing Sailor Moon! I was waiting for this, as the books are still in pretty high demand but nearly impossible to find. Thanks for the news; you’ve made my day :3

Its a shame that this news was reported inaccurately to Genvid which caused way too much hope.
They are, as Peter Ahlmstrom has repeatedly said in his forums, continuing to try to renegotiate the liscense.
I love Genvid, its my little home forum, but this time they jumped the gun.
