Kumori Con, Anyone?
Cons, Misc August 31st, 2007Tags: kumori-con, kumori07
Alrighty, I know you guys are from all over the place, but if any of you are local to my own hometown of Portland Oregon, you should already know that KumoriCon is this weekend. I’ll be wandering around, probably not in full cosplay but in my Yoko scarf/sunglasses/hair clip. So come up and say hi. My friends are mostly just working the con this year so I may be bored =P (Kumori is too small for much by way of industry panels and announcements.)

If I didn’t already have a full plate here and had some fair warning I world have grabbed a flight out there. Always wanted to see … Oregon. XD
Have a great time and take some pictures!
IMHO the smaller Cons are becoming more of a draw to me because the lack of huge crowds and events I can never make it to. When your local con sports a Hentai fest, rave, RHPS midnight show, and all night card, D&D, LAN, and after parties you miss loads of fun stuff yet have to navigate the mass of people (many who don’t even care for anime/manga).
I don’t even care for Comic-Con anymore. It’s just way to crowded.

Well, Comic Con has never been my favorite, but that’s largely because I’m (relatively) a fish out of water with American comic stuff =P Smaller cons and bigger cons both have their draws for me– smaller are more fun for just hanging out with friends, but bigger ones are better for buying schwag and going to industry panels ;)

Yupyup :) Well, I grew up in the bay area, California, but I’ve been living in Portland for about five years now ^_^
