WTF Alert: Dragon Ball Z TEH LIVEZ0R!
Okay, I was pretty sure that I would remember a live-action DBZ announcement, especially a Hollywood movie-type live-action DBZ announcement. And I don’t remember that. I thought perhaps I had missed it in the haze of some crack cocaine binge or another. When I looked into it, it turns out that 20th Century Fox acquired the rights and announced them back in ‘02, with production officially coming to a halt in ‘04. So it turns out it wasn’t a crack cocaine binge so much as a college binge. But anyway, now…it’s baaaaaack. (Cue Jaws theme.)
According to the Montreal Gazette, 20th Century Fox is filming the live-action DBZ flick in Montreal sometime in the next year, and it has a budget of over NINE THOUSAND $100 million. It’s expected to wrap production next July.

I remember having heard about a live action DBZ movie a long time ago, but I thought they had given up on it.

HOLY CRAP! I also remember hearing about this a long time ago, and assumed that it was dropped because of low popularity. It’s very good news if they are picking it back up. I know I’ll be watching it! KAMEHAMEHA!!! YEA!!
