Warning: thar be spoilers here. Less for the actual plot than for random side stuff, but still, you have been warned.

Is there some kind of phobia in Japan about having couples freakin’ kiss in the last episode? I mean, really– Zero no Tsukaima has a very high romance factor, and Kaze no Stigma has also been very blatantly building up to a couple. But we got more ZnT action in the first few eps than in the last, when the characters attempt to get married. What gives? And Kaze no Stigma has pretty much no action ever in that regard. Meh!

That said…well, the Zero no Tsukaima final ep made me cry (for real!) but that hardly means anything. I mean, I fucking cried during Mulan, no joke. The whole season felt kind of rushed and a lot of ends were left untied– like the villain in the series. It didn’t feel like she was just mysterious and we’d see her again in some future season…it felt like they just never quite got around to telling us anything about her.

Kaze no Stigma’s end was pretty appropriate for the series, I guess, though I still feel sort of unfulfilled due to a lack of actual Kazuma/Ayano romance (and no, his slapping her butt at the end doesn’t count). A mediocre end to a mediocre series that I can’t quite figure out why I kept wanting to watch.
