First, allow me to share the inspiration for this post: a Kotaku post about a Lucky Star video with a bunch of guys in costume– two of whom are in dresses –performing the Motteke! Sailor Fuku dance.
Now, let me offer you a quick formula: non-horrendously unattractive male + dress = popular with the chicks. I’m serious. Forget Axe Body Spray; if you want to get glomped in an elevator at a con, just wear a dress. Preferably something gothic lolita or cosplay-oriented. You don’t have to be gay to do it. YOU CAN DO IT TO GET CHICKS. And it works. I’ve tackled many crossplayers seen many girls tackle many crossplayers in my time. Just FYI.
