Darker than Black, Owari!
Good lord, spring really IS almost over. After this, I only have to finish Lovely Complex, Romeo x Juliet, and El Cazador and that’s it for all the spring shows I watched @_@ (Not including Hayate no Gotoku, which is going to be ~52 episodes.)
Anyway! Darker than Black is over, which means no more yummy Hei goodness. Seriously, if Bones does nothing else, they do some of the most attractive male characters (in terms of design AND personality). Like, I looked at some of the male characters that have really caught my attention over the last couple of years, and they’re almost ALL bones: Hei from DtB, Kyouya from Ouran, Ed and Al from FMA, Thor from Jyu Oh Sei (shitty show, but some nice characters)…in fact, the only ones who AREN’T Bones are Lelouch (Geass, Sunrise/AIC) and Hagi (Blood+, Studio I.G).
…Wow, tangent much? Anyway, DtB ending was kinda meh, so I feel a little unfulfilled. But that may just be the onset of Hei withdrawal.
I mean really, Hei’s imouto-chan was “living inside of him?” And then he sees all the dead people and stuff? Nnnn. Also, the revelation that he himself isn’t a contractor should have felt bigger. Like, now that I look back on it, it’s HUGE! He was forcing himself into that stoic mode all that time! But in the actual show, it felt like it was just tossed off. I think they were trying to keep it from feeling too overblown, but it still got kinda cheesy. Like at one point he says “Sayonara, ____________” to like six people, and I felt like I was reading a Japanese translation of Goodnight, Moon. I mean, that was pretty goofy. And his transition to his new situation was so fast…meh.
But Hei is still super yummy. ♥
