Gundam 00 Season 2 Gets Dated
So back before the fall season started, it was announced that Gundam 00 would follow a vaguely Geass-esque pattern. Er, not in the sense that it would start out as only one season and then in the midst of its run get a second season announcement tacked on, but rather that what would air in fall would be season one, and then it would get a break before season two.
Now that we have context: Moon Phase reports that the second season will come a year after the first, in October of 2008. They also speculate that Geass’s second season will probably run in spring ‘08, April to September– thus preventing the two Sunrise shows from competing.
Interesting, I’m excited for Code Geass season 2, It upset me, when they made the special which finishes the cliff hanger, then they add an even more frustrating one.
I’m also not sure how I feel on Gundam OO, maybe its cause I’m not a girl, I’m not excited to see it, so I’m not sure, I guess I need to watch more
@yue: Yeah, Geass had the unenviable position of having had a conclusion worked out– it was only supposed to be one season to start with. Then sometime during the run of the show they decided to expand it to another season, so suddenly something vaguely resembling a conclusion to the first season that would still keep things open for a second had to be written AND animated in rather short order…hence the delay between ep23 and eps 24-25, and the general kinda suckiness of eps 24-25.
But I’m definitely looking forward to season 2. :D
I also am interested in which TV cable station will air Code Geass, once the dub is finished, it seems like some of those moments later on are “To hot for Adult Swim.”(Death scenes towards the end) Also, I think I might give Gundam OO a chance again because I don’t wanna wait another 2 years to follow a Gundam series. I at least hope that neither end prematurly as one of my favorite Gundams, Gundam X has really no ending and was canceled.
@yue: I don’t think it’s really too much for Adult Swim, but I could see Sci Fi taking it on for AniMonday if they could get their hands on it.
Personally I hope it ends up on Animonday, I want something powerful that may launch it into wider status, and think Code Geass would be such a show. But really I’m one that feels that Adult Swim hasn’t been adding much for me lately.
