So I’ve seen all the recent postings about the popular shoujo manga Vampire Knight getting an anime, and I kept thinking: “jeez, wasn’t that announced months ago?”
So finally I went through my aO archives (yes, I have every article I ever wrote for aO) and found…nope! I wonder if I got it mixed up with Rosario to Vampire? Except that I read Vampire Knight and the two series are really very different, so I can’t see how I’d get ‘em mixed up. Maybe it’s one of those things where there had been rumors for ages? Hmm…
Well, anyway. Hey look, Vampire Knight is getting an anime! And stuff.

@kurono k: yeah, I really wanted a (good quality) day class uniform, but I guess that’s out, now. (I can’t stand costume-grade costumes. If it’s a uniform, it needs to look like something you’d actually go to school in (or, er, be in the military in).)
I’m a big fan of the manga, but I’m not so sure about an anime. I expect the art will seem way too flat and the scheme too bright overall. Of course I’ll watch it and probably love it (unless it sucks like the Loveless anime). I hope they get good seiyuu.

@Kitsune: I bet they will; the manga’s really popular.
It’s a total guilty pleasure of mine because it’s basically a vampire soap opera, but I’m interested in seeing how they do it. I’m guessing it’ll have a better art adaptation than Wallflower/Yamato Nadesico Shichihenge, at least.

I’ve been a sucker for (sentient, non-killing machine) vampires since long before I became a sucker for manga/anime, so this series pretty much ties everything up in a bow for me.

I’m not a sucker for vampires, and i generally don’t like vampire related things (hellsing is an exception, although its not really about vampires. Same can be said for JoJo)-=)…
but there is something really good about vampire knight, probably the art.
