Okay, we’ve discussed how disappointingly clunky and QUALITY the anime adaptation of Minari Endoh’s manga Hatenkou Yuugi (aka Dazzle) is. However, I’ve found the series’ saving grace: the dialogue. Whether it’s an extended silly scene (like episode 6’s “Surname Poker” game, featuring way too many Suzuki), or in the middle of a dramatic moment, or even during a fight scene, the dialogue has some good, snappy moments (much like the manga).
Some examples from episode 7 (#1 and 2 are my faves– go Baroqueheat!):

I guess it also doesn’t hurt that Kobayashi Sanae-san and Sakurai Takahiro-san bring over a cuter version of their DGM AllenKan quibbling/chemistry to Hatenkou Yuugi (I am such a Saku-pyon and Alzeid fangirl)… Anyhoo, the repartee does zing and redeems ^^

I really need to pick up D.Gray-Man again; I hear it finished its filler and got going again really well. But I can barely keep up with the other stuff I’m already watching! ;)

but… the animation is better.. the people look better, the girl acts more …normally…so to speak.. in the first or second chapter of HY, there was this one part where she leaves the room because of… an argument over… absolutely nothing, and then gets surrounded by a mob… and says this line” besides my partner is waiting for me back at our inn… we’re in the midst of an argument..” … over nothing…
She is WAY cooler in the anime… “He can’t betray me because we’ve made no promises…”
