I thought it was pretty sweet when I got three units taking theater shop in college, where I learned some of the basics of costume-making and set-making. But this takes the cake: Vantan Career School, a vocational college in Tokyo, is now offering a course in cosplay.

The 3 month, 12-unit ¥560,000 ($5463 USD) course is focused mainly on “character hairmake” and costume making, with occasional classes on photography, prop-making, etc.

The first class saw 35 students, the vast majority of whom were women and who cosplayed character ranging from Suigintou from Rozen Maiden to Code Geass‘ Lelouch. Sounds like a good time, eh?
