How the !@#$ Did I Miss This? Black Lagoon 2nd Barrage on Starz!
Somehow Starz Edge– a premium cable channel owned by the same company that owns Manga Entertainment –has gotten hold of two Geneon titles, Black Lagoon and Kyo Kara Maoh!. They’re airing them both starting on the 8th, or at least a couple of episodes of them, and in Black Lagoon’s case, they’re starting with the thus far unreleased second season, Black Lagoon: 2nd Barrage!
Maybe Manga Entertainment is doing a license rescue? Either way, I HIGHLY recommend catching Black Lagoon if you can, because it is epic and awesome and involves incestuous gothic lolita twins. Kyo Kara Maoh!, eh, if it’s something you’d like you’ve probably already seen it. (I think Geneon finished releasing it, at least everything prior to the recent OVA and now the new season…am I wrong?)

I seem to remember hearing about this before, though my impression at the time wasn’t that it was a rescue - just one of the few people left at Geneon being able to net a TV deal. Could be wrong, though. I suppose this could make it possible for these series to be downloaded through starz on itunes or something though (maybe?)

It just kills me that my cable company doesn’t carry that Starz channel and the other Starzs don’t offer a broadcast of their sister channel’s anime series.

I hope this means they may actually finish releasing (or at least air) the final episodes of Kyo Kara Maoh. They actually stopped and never released the last 3 dvds of the second season, despite having solid future release dates for them at one point in time (which I hope means they were nearly complete by the time everything blew up in september).
Also, I love Black Lagoon, too, so this is doubly great news. :)
*must check to see if my Starz has Starz Edge* Either way, it is good news. It means there is hope for at least those two series being completed.

Found out the Stars Edge DOES repeat episodes - the latest being episodes 16-18 at 3:10 am central early thursday morning….so a scan of each night besides the regular monday night shows may be required.
I was lucky as I missed 2 of those on monday.Also -trying to see if english cast members will appear at a convention
in Alanta.
