Thoughts:
Anyone who’s been reading this blog long knows that I adore Code Geass for its fun characters and crazy over-the-top soap opera plot. Season two promises to have more of the same, starting with an enslaved bunnygirl Kallen, a mysterious new younger brother named Lolo (Roro/Rolo/Loro/whatever), and a restless, memory-altered Lelouch.

I’m a little confused about this memory-altering thing. I mean, Suzaku hasn’t turned Lelouch in, and I can fathom that. But Shirley hasn’t either; has her memory been altered too? Why does Lelouch have a brother now? Where’s Nunnally? What the fuck?

Yes, it all adds up to delicious insanity, if you ask me. And if you didn’t catch season one, don’t worry; the first ep of R2 will get you up to speed pretty easily. And handily enough, the first episode of R2 mirrors the first episode of season one almost perfectly in content, as many other people have pointed out so far. If it wasn’t for Euphie’s awesomeness in s1, I might even suggest that the first season might become unnecessary. (But Euphie WAS awesome, so s1 remains epic.)

So, to sum up: if you liked season one of Geass, you’ll definitely want to score you some R2. If you didn’t watch Geass, now’s a great time to start. And if you hate Geass, you suck! ♥

Memory-altered Lelouch? I thought his power was more like mind control unless they changed it.

  2. gia Says:

@scott: That IS his power. He’s the one who’s had his memory altered.

  3. Nagato Says:

lol @ scottfrye, someone obviously has not watched the episode yet.

Shirley’s memories of Lulu’s true identity were wiped last season. As for Rollo, I’m pretty sure he was planted there and is not Lulu’s real brother. Nunnally is probably captive somewhere. I’m sure things will be revealed as the season progresses, I can’t wait for it too. :3

  4. gia Says:

@Nagato: Ahh, but Shirley found her notes from her diary talking about Lelouch being Zero, so her memory would have to have been wiped again.

Also, none of them seem to be mentioning that Nunally isn’t around, or that Lolo appeared rather suddenly…

  5. Van Says:

@Gia: …Lelouch cannot alter his memory again since he’s already used it once on himself while playing chess with that crazy chinese guy… Remember? So he can’t use his powers on himself again.

Im still confused how Shirley remembered Lelouch… I was shocked when she called him Lulu O_o and Rolo, he appeared outta nowhere >__< Ah I think they’re gona add some brother love to Code Geass now.. nuu! But yeah I can’t wait for epi 2 to come out ^^v

And I have a bad feeling that the King also has Geass powers… In the OP I saw V.V with the King T..T

  6. gia Says:

@Van: Ahh, but what if someone ELSE has a Geass that allows them to alter people’s memories? Like Lelouch’s, Shirley’s, and the other students and teachers at Ashford…;) Which could account for Shirley’s return to, essentially, her early season 1 self.
