Anyone recognize that shadow? Yeah, I don’t either…but here are some recent, unlicensed mech series: Kishin Taishin Gigantic Formula, Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, Kiss Dum Engage Planet, Kotetsushin Jeeg…any other ideas?

That would be Soukou no Strain– a slightly different version of the image, but still pretty clearly it, I think.

Googling Soukou no Strain I found the image used for the shadow, I don’t think I watched past ep 2-3 myself and had forgot about this title till now.

Soukou no Strain…ugh what a horrible anime
Aside from 2nd season Gunslinger Girls, funimation made some horrible choices.

@byrc: Finally somebody else that agrees with me that Sokou No Strain was terrible. Repetitive episodes (Sara doubts she can do what she’s sworn to do, gets in a fight with somebody, somebody ends up dying and she ends the episode reaffirming her desire to do what it is she has to do. Rinse repeat for like 3/4 of the series), poor character development, boring one-sided mecha battles (like even more boring then most one-sided mecha battles because this time there isn’t even a cool unique design with over the top weapons to drool at, for some reason Sara’s Strain is just really overpowered despite being virtually identical to the others as far as I can tell) and one of if not the single worst written villains I have ever seen in an anime killed this series.
It’s honestly the worst sci-fi mecha anime series I have ever seen and I’ve seen Godmars and Zeorymer.
