Sorry VIZ, Vertigo Declares JP Death Note Flicks Insufficient

…Just kidding, VIZ! You guys know I love the Death Note flicks like mad.
But ANN reports that Vertigo Entertainment USA– unrelated to Vertigo comics, and the production company behind The Grudge, The Departed, and other films, is developing a Hollywood remake of Death Note.
I think we all know who should play Light.

OMG it’s really real? I know lots of manga is being adapted in Hollywood, but I never imagined Death Note getting adapted. Probably because of the Zac Efron stuff…lol.
No matter how bad this movie ends up being I am going to see it. Though *sigh* it’s too bad it really won’t be Zac Efron. That would make it ten times funnier.

For those who can’t believe a US movie version will be made, think back of all the crappy US horror movie remakes concerning ghosts on the internet, getting mysterious phone calls on your cellphones, or a mysterious vhs tape.
A magical notebook that allows you kill people doesn’t exactly break any US borders of creativity or pure out right stealing.
Anyway, the japanese movies weren’t any good either. Mostjapanese movie’s sthink by the way. Their horror movies can range to fucking creepy and kickass or just purely mundane. Their drama and action flick are also pure crap. I hontesly don’t think the US version can make the movie any worst than the japanese already done. Talk about crappy cgi and hammy acting. Mia didn’t even have blonde hair. Maybe the us version will remedy that. I dont’mind seeing an american gothic lolita in blond hair. It will be awesome.

Zac Efron = Kira ?
Just as I thought, Kira a.k.a. Light Yagami has been using Zac to absorb his public appearances and popularity. Therefore all Efron fans are just blinded Kira supporters. I pity everyone who has fallen for Light’s evil attempts at making Zac Efron likeable and popular, much like he himself wishes he could be.

If DN is made by Americans, it’ll problee be Americanized. I’m for Light being called the Killer. It’s just got a certain class to it, y’know? The Japanese can still call him Kira, obviously, but I like Killer.

nnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they make zac efron into kira i’ll be so angry!! it’s already bad enough hollywood is ruining death note, but if they make zac into kira ill hate hollywood. hollywood always ruin the best asian movies and dramas. if they ruin this i’ll be angry!! they better also get a ok cast for l. im his biggest fan and if they ruin this for me, im going to hate hollywood forever!!!
