Oof, the announcements just keep coming! But in the meantime– Del Rey’s panel is at 5pm EST. So you only have about 2 hours to add any Del Rey questions to the Anext thread! Also, ADV is in the dealer’s room, and no, they’re not talking. Just selling.
Oh, and a reminder– if I’m unable to get Internet access in the panel room for either Del Rey or Media Blasters and therefore unable to liveblog, check my twitter for your usual on-the-spot updates!
Anime:
- Moon Phase reports that Mahoromatic creator Bow Ditama’s manga KissXsis (about a boy whose two sisters are in love with him) is being made into an anime– as is a second season of Druaga, titled Tower of Druaga ~the Sword of URUK~.
- ANN has word that a 20 shorts based on NHK mascot Domo-kun will air on digi-distro program Veoh. I don’t really get the Domo-kun resurgence (I remember being quite surprised when Dark Horse announced they’d be releasing Domo-kun toys), but hey, it’s all good.
- Oh, and an official website for the Queen’s Blade anime has gone up.
Cons:
- Leave it to cracked.com to offer up “Patheticon: 8 Geek Conventions God Never Intended.” #1 on the list? Yaoi-Con, of course!
Required Reading:
Still haven’t decided whether this is a weekly feature or an occasional part of roundup-tan, apparently…
- Translators Alethea and Athena discuss translating manga (and anime) into English from the translator’s perspective, specifically how different choices and interpretations can alter a character– and a story.
- The Yomiuri has a nice sum-up of the recent lawsuit between Zatch Bell! creator Makoto Raiku and Shogakukan.
