GONZO Sticks with Crunchyroll For ‘Strike Witches’

GONZO has announced that they will continue their legit subs digi-distro plan with their new summer series, Strike Witches (see the summer preview for more on the show). The show will air on Crunchyroll and YouTube, although not BOST TV.
Presumably it’ll be a similar same-day-as-Japan roll-out as before. What remains to be seen is if the rest of the system will remain the same, i.e. streaming will be free on both (it cost money on BOST, except for the first episode) and a donation system for downloadable copies. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them set a specific cost this time around instead of a “donate-whatever-you-want” (minimum $0.01) system, but if the donation system worked well for them (after all, people competed with the first couple of episodes to donate the most) last time, you can probably expect to see it again.
Hopefully an announcement is pending from Crunchyroll with details for their stuff, at least?

If I remember correctly, it was “pay as much as you want” on crunchyroll as long as it was at least $2. You couldn’t get the download for less than that price.

@Scott: When I downloaded the first couple of episodes, the minimum was $0.01. It’s possible it changed, but I didn’t hear about it if so. :)

[...] Soo then we walked into Mr. Jackasses’s fansubbing panel. The problem was we came in a bit late cause we were taking some vocaloid cosplayer photos so the only place we could sit was the back. Due to this, it gave us a disadvantage over all the fucking retards who probably fap to his posters at night. Really nothing he said was funny and he should be doing voice overs for Cartman from South Park rather than anime characters. I took a video of JP asking a question and basically if you watch it above, you can tell that when he gets a question that he can’t answer, he gives some bullshit reply. LOL “when Japanese companies allow streaming” LOL SOMEONE HASN’T HEARD THE NEWS. [...]

I don’t know people are always all “CrunchyRoll this, CrunchyRoll that”…BOST is way better. They’re the ones who actually do the real translation work, and their downloads and site are way better and stable.
