4Kids Goes Tokusatsu: ‘Kamen Rider Dragon Knight’

Well, that’s interesting– ICv2 reports that 4kids has licensed the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Ryuki (to be called Kamen Rider Dragon Knight), the 12th series in the Kamen Rider franchise, which has been running in Japan since the ’70s.
It looks like the show will be Americanized a la Power Rangers (i.e. they’ll just redub the action stuff but have American actors do the rest of the scenes), with the American version of hero Shinji Kido becoming Kit Taylor. A shot has been offered but the actors in it haven’t been named. Apparently the plot of this particular Kamen Rider iteration is that Kit is one of 13 people to find an Advent Card, giving him Kamen Rider powers– but there can be only ONE Kamen Rider…cue a battle to become The One Rider…TO RULE THEM ALL.

“but the actors in it haven’t been named”
Wiki already lists the actors’ names, they were announced before the licensing show.

There’s a trailer in Veoh, too. Looks better than the old promo.

The pilot looked ok, but that had all different actors. The trailer for Dragon Knight looked good though. I’ll be watching and hoping it does well so we can get some of the more recent rider series over. I would think Blade would work over here.
I do wonder if they’ll do the yearly change out of series as done in Japan and adopted by Saban/Disney for Power Ranger.
