Well, I suppose it’s not all that unexpected: Sankaku Complex reports on word that a single-episode OVA (or perhaps we should be moving to the new terminology, OAD? Which, by the way, stands for “Original Animation Disc,” I believe, since a few of you asked) of InuYasha is in the works, titled Kuroi Tessaiga (”Black Tessaiga”).
Now, that doesn’t sound like the ending of the InuYasha manga to me. Sankaku Complex also suggests that it seems unlikely that a series as popular as IY might get only a single episode OAD. So perhaps this is merely a test to see if the anime can make a comeback in Japan, where the anime ended about four years ago?

I hope OAD doesn’t catch on. There’s nothing wrong with calling them OVA’s even though they’re not on video tapes anymore. After all, why do we still call those bonus music tracks “b-sides” even though we don’t use the two-sided records and cassette tapes anymore?

I hope this isn’t just a single OVA and then no more Inuyasha. I am a major fan of that show and I would at least like to see a little bit before Kikyo’s death up to the Final Battle, and the last two chapters of the manga animated. MORE INUYASHA!!!!!

yeah! im so exicited. i absolutly luv the series. i don’t care if they only show it in japanese as long as it has subtitles that are in english. i’ve watched many animes that way and don’t really mind it that much. i really hope they decide to continue the series after this. the manga is ok and all, but it just takes me forever to get through them all.

i laugh at that lol. srry, but it isnt’ the end of InuYasha they are making (made) into an OVA. it is InuYasha chapters 407 or so, about Tetsusaiga’s newest attack, the Meidou Zengestuha. It’s like this cresant that sends things into the abyss of hell. They short is mainly a battle between Sesshoumaru and InuYasha, and it also includes Naraku’s newest and last incarnation, Byakuya of the Mirrage. So, this may or may not be hope for the continuation for the anime. I think it may be, because people are saying that they’re only showing Tetsusaiga’s new attack. But Tetsusaiga attained more than that, including the Dragon Scaled Tetsusaiga. So, they obviously would have animated that as well. The end of InuYasha is chapter 558, “Tomarrow”. I really hope they animate the entire ending sequence, cause it’s full of drama. Miroku, Kohaku, Sango and Kagome all almost die. It’s very exciting.

yeah i love end of the manga, it would be awesome if the continued the anime. i dont think they could leave it at one ova cuz it would be kinda like is that it? i really hope it continues :smile:

epic..i read the manga..is this going to be an animation of when seshomaru and inuyasha fight in byakuyas illusion ward..that was actually pretty epic…i feel so sad for seshomaru..his daddy didn’t love him…he only used his so inuyasha could make his sword even stronger ;( i wish i could give him a hug and make him all happy again(…happy-_-#)
