Aaaand ADV’s Popped Titles

What a day. Anime Nation has posted several titles that have reportedly been discontinued by ADV:
- Five Centimeters Per Second
- Best Student Council
- Innocent Venus
- Robotech
The only surprising item on there, really, is 5cm, which although I’m not a Shinkai fan myself should be pretty popular especially with those emo kids.
As for Innocent Venus, I have a tip for ADV: the name sounds like porn. I originally checked out the series thinking it was a hentai. Try marketing it as such and you could still sucker some people into it! Given that it’s actually a pretty decent sci-fi action/drama– and very attractively animated –it could still do okay.

From the retail side, titles like 5cm and Robotech do not belong with Best Student Council and Innocent Venus. The former are basically evergreen-ish titles.
I guess somewhere in the back end those licenses were dropped because of different reasons.
