FUNimation Moves On to the PS3
Dated: 15 Jul 2008

Just as VIZ has caught up to iTunes, it was announced today at E3 that FUNimation is bringing titles to the PS3, where Sony is creating a new video service. (You’ll have to hit the liveblog play/replay button to find it, at 3:24).
FUNimation is one of several companies involved in the new service, which also includes Sony Pictures (of course), Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox, and MGM. And the new content is going to be available TONIGHT, so I’ll let you know what FUNi has up, how much it is, etc. as soon as I can. Better ugprade the ol’ PS3 firmware today.

Nice picture.
Funny enough I haven’t updated my PS3 yet either; busy times, busy times.
Engadget has a writeup (less insane than following whatever liveblog nonsense widget that game sites use these days) and it does add some details like the ability to transfer the videos to your PSP from your PS3 and have it on multiple devices, etc.
Devil is in the details here.

The PS3 to PSP movie thing was announced long before the conference, I think. Or at least I remember hearing about it ages ago @_@
