So, I heard on Moon Phase that a manga titled Hetalia: Axis Powers is being developed into an anime, and naturally I went and looked into what the series is about.

…And I learned that it’s the story of World War II. Except instead of the story featuring nations, it features…pretty boys. So like, there’s a character who is America (and loves hamburgers). Russia is fond of vodka, and China has pandas. Apparently the story is set in Italy, and the title may be a reference ot the Italian word “hetare,” which means useless.

…Yeah. Take that as you will. The series has an official website here.
