Tpop Gets Cuddly With Gentosha

So a new press release is out announcing that TOKYOPOP has partnered up with Japanese manga publisher Gentosha– in the wake of the Kodansha announcement, no less (though it’s been a while since Tokyopop got anything from Kodansha, thanks no doubt due to Kodansha’s Del Rey deal).
Anyway, Tpop is going to “provide sublicensing agency services” for Gentosha titles in France, Italy, and the parts of Asia that are not Japan (of which we sometimes forget that there are many). The release also hints at future original projects involving Gentosha creators.
The two companies have worked together before– TOKYOPOP published Rozen Maiden, or at least as much of the manga as came out before creators Peach-Pit had a disagreement with their editors and left for Shueisha and Young Jump, as well as titles like Gravitation and Lament of the Lamb (which TOKYOPOP is supposed to be involved in the creation of a movie version of).
