Otakon08 Quickie: Kaiji and Ninja Scroll Sequels On The Way

So, I didn’t get to hit up the Madhouse/Maruyama Q&A session because it was at the same time as Media Blasters, but fortunately Japanator’s Brad Rice did, because apparently sequels to both Kaiji and Ninja Scroll.

Mmmm…delicious episodes whose only actual action are the flipping of a single card. Must eat.

Also, for the record, I know a few people are mistakenly saying that there’s a sequel of Kaiba (also a Madhouse title) in the works. It’s Kaiji, not Kaiba. The likelihood of a Kaiba sequel is small; Yuasa’s original (read: mindfuck) works tend to either be one-shot movies (Cat Soup, Mind Game) or 12-13 episode TV series (Kemonozume, Kaiba).

    NINJA SCROLL 2 ANIME AND A HOLLYWOOD FILM.

    Madhouse Studios is preparing a sequel to the 1994 anime hit with Ninja Scroll 2.Yoshiaki Kawajiri will need to work on the script soon,
    Ninja Scroll also had a TV series back in 2003 released by Urban Vision Entertainment plus there is some talks on the Hollywood movie version of Ninja Scroll to be developed by Lawrence Kasanoff and Threshold Entertainment of Mortal Kombat films.
    The live action of Ninja Scroll will have cast of Asian actors and some American actors and some of the filmmakers will be Asian except for Larry Kasanoff and Josh Wexler will produce Alison Savitch,George Johnsen and TDRL crew will do the visual effects and John Medlen and Christopher Leps will do the stunts,other crew will work on the script supervising is Brent Friedman and Alison S Cohen as the production supervisor.
