ICv2 reports that the second season of Code Geass will air on Adult Swim, to the surprise of pretty much no one who’s ever watched the show (although I guess Cartoon Network did stop showing One Piece, so I guess it wasn’t a TOTAL given).

By the way, ICv2 refers to R2 as an “18-episode second season,” but it’s only 18 episodes to date. You can probably bet on it being 25-26 episodes total.

Also, I got the first Geass LE box set at Otakon and it is beyond awesome. First off, it’s two discs and the first volume of the manga– which at decent prices would be worth $50 easily –plus the OST, the first Sound Episode, and a character booklet, making the $60 price tag a pretty good deal (whereas the Haruhi first box felt like a little much even with all the stuff that came with it).

Also, the box is just awesome, with its nice cover that retracts into the box and stuff. And it being Bandai, there are pictures pretty much anywhere they had room. Very pretty. Definitely worth it for a Geass fan.

If someone wasn’t so hung over, they would have found out about this at the Bandai panel at Otakon. ;-)

If someone actually tried to be more sociable they might know that I wasn’t the least bit hung over :D

does this mean its gonna be even harder to finish R2 as its reaching the end of its fansub cycle? darn it they did this to season 1 they’re doing it to me now *twitch*

Yeah, already announced at Otakon. Come on Gia, you were actually at that panel! =b I’m just surprised that they’re airing the R2 dub so quickly. At Adult Swim’s current rate, R2 should start airing in less then 3 months from now. Some fast dubbing indeed.

I knew I should have gotten that back when Right Stuf had their sale. I bet that would actually have been delivered and not canceled like the 0083 I ordered.

Nebs: At the BE panel, or at the Bandai Surprise panel? I wasn’t at the regular BE panel, and I definitely don’t remember it from the Bandai Surprise panel.

  8. Nebs Says:

Ah, I guess it was their regular panel then. I wasn’t aware they had held more than one.

The LE set may be awesome, but it’s also very broken. See this (very) lengthy thread at AoD:

Also, fail for making the sound episode English language only when it would have been oh-so-easy to put a subtitle track for the original Japanese version on the DVDs.

According to ANN, it’ll be 25 episodes. I’ve heard the finale is going to be an hour long as well. :D
