What’s Up With 801-chan?

From an anime adaptation announcement to KyoAni animating it and now to…cancellation? Moon Phase reports that the official blog of the Misenobashi 801 shopping center– whose mascot was the inspiration for the titular furry creature that Tonari no 801-chan’s heroine becomes in fangirl-mode –claims that the new anime is cancelled. But the blog post has been deleted since then.
But wait, there’s more! The official site for the anime is gone, and the official site for the manga has been purged of all references to the anime.
What could happen in (*checks watch*) about 10 days to go from putting up an official site and announcing that Kyoto Animation was announcing the show to cancellation? Hopefully more information will become available soon; I also have an e-mail out to Ohzora Shuppan (just in case).

This ‘cancellation’ is actually just a stunt to stir up the fanboys and increase publicity—Kyoto Animation’s at it again, those lovable asses :3

Maybe someone leaked the anime plans way too early?

Scott: Yeah, just like the yaoi trend is so completely over. Ha, that’s a good one!
But, really…how many fujoshi-centric stories have you read? Do tell, Scott, how much you love tales of yaoi-lovers :D
