‘Skip Beat!’ Anime Staff and Cast are Up

TV Tokyo’s official Skip Beat! anime site has updated with cast information– and a star-studded seiyuu affair it is! Perhaps unsurprising for such a popular shoujo series whose anime is rather long-awaited.

Our heroine, the determined and much-abused Kyoko (right in the picture above), will be voiced by Marina Inoue (Gurren Lagann’s Yoko, Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei’s Chiri Kitsu). Her dumbass boyfriend Shou (bottom left) is Mamoru Miyano (Death Note’s Light, Gundam 00’s Setsuna). Aaaand the smoldering actor Kyoko becomes close to, Ren (top left)? None other than Katsuyuki Konishi (Gurren Lagann’s Kamina, Bamboo Blade’s Ishida-sensei).

On the staff front: the anime will be directed by Kiyoko Sayama, director of Pretear and Vampire Knight. Whee!

Off topic, but I can’t believe I didn’t notice that Light and Setsuna have the same voice actor in Japanese and the same in English.
