Confession time! I did not know that Danny Choo is actually the son of shoe designer Jimmy Choo (you know, it’s one of those names they throw around on “Sex and the City” all the time? That guy). Thankfully, CNN is here to tell us such things– they actually have a video report up on Choo.
For CNN (and non-otaku viewers, probably) it’s a bit of a “hey, look at this wacky guy! He’s the son of a famous guy!” deal, but it’s still awesome because it involves Danny Choo. Who is, among certain circles, a bigger brand name than his dad. Very specific circles, but circles nonetheless! So go check out the video.

it’s nice to see his dad doesn’t hate on him or make fun of it. and it’s also nice to hear he doesn’t use his dad’s money for any of it, pretty good video mini-interview thing.

Ooh, that was an interesting tidbit about Danny. Heck, I don’t know even know who Jimmy Choo is (at least, before watching this report). Glad to see some media spotlight on people like him :) And they portrayed him in a positive light, instead of making him like some weird, creepy otaku.

I only found out after reading his “About” page. Unfortunately, my first thought was “Sex and the City shoes guy!” If I had never watched that show, I’d have no idea who his dad is. ^^;

Oh wow! I really had no idea about his heritage. No wonder he was so well connected during his earlier years (Kylie Minogue groupie :p)
