By gia on December 30th, 2007   Commentary, Upcoming Series, Winter '08 Series

Okay! As promised, here is the Winter 2008 cheat sheet. Hit the jump to see it in this entry (I did my best to make it readable); click here to see a printable version, and this time I decided to make my own Excel spreadsheet of the shows available to you guys. Here it be.

These files feature the titles, Japanese titles, start dates, primary air times, studios, genres, website URLs, and a very short summary for all 23 upcoming TV anime. Hope you find it handy. ♥

Oh, and if you want the full preview, here are parts one, two, and three at Jtor.

FYI, my 2008 Winter season preview has been going up on Jtor– part one features ARIA the Origination through Minamike ~okawari~, and part two is Mnemosyne through Rosario to Vampire. Part three will go up tomorrow and features the rest, which are Shigofumi through Zoku: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

I’ll also post my season cheatsheet here tomorrow. :)

Rumor: HaruToki 3 Anime

AnimeSuki forum member domino declares that at “a related event” yesterday, an anime adaptation of the PS2 dating sim/adventure game Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3 is in the works. Since they didn’t offer a source link or even say what the event was, and I have yet to see any other posts about it, I can’t confirm, but it’s perfectly likely.

In HaruToki 3 a girl from modern-day Japan gets tossed into an AU Heian-era Kyoto (8th century to 12th century) and she turns out to be Hakuryu no Miko, the Priestess of the White Dragon. And she meets a half dozen or so attractive eligible bachelors, natch.

Happy though I am at the idea of another reverse harem anime– I think the last ones that saw TV were Ouran High School Host Club and Saiunkoku Monogatari, the former ending in Sept. ‘06 and the latter ending in February ‘07 and being completely vapid), this one seems decidedly along the lines of the cute but dumb Fushigi Yuugi and Saiunkoku than the remarkably clever Host Club.

And it looks like we were right to be skeptical: Sunrise has posted on its official website that the magazine made a mistake, and the actual start date has not been announced yet - but that it will be coming soon. I think technically this means that it COULD still be starting in October, or at least this fall, but it’s been my experience that if something’s true, a company’s not going to come out and call it a mistake, even if it wasn’t supposed to be announced yet.

So, we’ll see. I, for one, am crossing my fingers that this means it’ll be coming out in September instead. ♥

New Anime
A bunch of new anime has been announced recently, mostly presumably for the Fall season. I’m always so excited about new shows. I think it’s a combination of being able to announce them to fans, and also just the potential that’s there. Any of the shows could be the Next Big Thing, you know?

Anyway, some of the recent announcements…
