Here’s the fall cheat sheet, for those of you who want to print out it out. There’s a regular version after the jump, or you can click here for my full XLS spreadsheets. Oh, and the main season preview is still right here. :)

I know, I know, I’m late– things have gotten very busy with my project. But here it is: your Fall 2008 anime preview!
A couple of interesting trends this season. First off, I was struck by how many shows this season are the directorial debuts for the people helming them. Hyakko (Michio Fukuda), Kyou no Go no Ni (Tsuyoshi Nagasawa), Macademi Wasshioi! (Takaomi Kanesaki), Michiko to Hacchin (Sayo Yamamoto), and Mouryou no Hako (Ryosuke Nakamura) are all, as near as I can tell, directorial debuts (with said newbie directors in parantheticals, of course).
Another trend? Live-action actresses voicing roles. Shikabane Hime features Nana Akiyama, while both Michiko and Hacchin are voiced by film actresses: Yoko Maki and Suzuka Ougo, respectively.
And finally…well, is it really a trend anymore? Sequels. Lots and lots and lots of sequels. But it’s okay, because they include such titles as Gundam 00 and Shugo Chara!. ?
You’ll note a little change this season– I’ve included trailers whenever possible, rather than a regular image. Let me know what you think.
Cheat sheet’ll go up tomorrow. On with the show! Read more…

Well, I published the full summer preview a bit early, but now that we’re on the brink of when most of the shows will start (and a couple already have), I figured I’d upload the cheat sheet. You can download the Excel spreadsheet version here, the PDF version here, or you can view an HTML version after the jump! (Trust me, though– the XLS and PDF versions are more readable.)
And of course, don’t forget that the full details on each show are available back at the full summer preview! ♥

…Thou art more work…but shorter than spring! Yes, folks, it’s time for the summer preview– a little bit early, but that’s because this time around I included shows airing this June (one of which starts tomorow), and would have included August had there been any! Yaaaaay.
This summer is going to see a lot of familiar faces: new seasons of Zero no Tsukaima, Hidamari Sketch, Ikki Tousen, a sequel to Code-E, and– god help us –a new Neo Angelique are in the works. And then of course there’s Slayers REVOLUTION, which has got to be the mother of nostalgia this summer. Here’s hoping it’s as awesome as a Slayers series should be!
There are a few other surprises on the way, like the adaptations of Fumi Yoshinaga’s almost-but-not-quite-yaoi Antique Bakery (don’t let that almost-BL tag fool you; this is an amazingly-crafted piece) and of Hiroaki Samura’s action-packed samurai drama Blade of the Immortal. These are both based on highly-acclaimed manga, which means that the studios (Synergy SP and Bee Train, respectively) are wide open to fan anger if the shows don’t live up to their originals.
And then there are a wide variety of lesser-known titles: eroge adaptation Koihime Musou, otaku-friendly Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, the shoujo/supernatural mystery series Ryouko’s Strange Case Files, and…what? Oh. Yeah, I guess I could just, y’know, let the preview speak for itself. Hit the jump for all the details on 24 shows set to air in Japan this summer! Read more…
Okay, folks, I’m sorry I was so late on this– real life got in the way. (WTF!)
I should note that this time, I adjusted the premiere dates/times to what actually makes sense. See, Moon Phase will generally say that a show starts at, say, “25:30 on Friday, April 4th,” which I had in the past said was “1:30am on Friday, April 4th.” That time should actually be 1:30am on Saturday, April 5th, and I’ve done it all correct this time.
Okay, so! Cheatsheet is coming a bit later, and for the full preview, hit the jump! Read more…
