So now that 2007 is over, I find myself really wishing I had a comprehensive database here on my computer of the shows and movies and OVAs that were created and/or licensed in North America this year.
So in the interest of NOT having this problem next year, I’ve spent much of this morning developing an Excel spreadsheet with four pages: U.S. anime licenses, TV anime airing in Japan, anime OVAs/Movies released in Japan, and live-action adaptations of anime/manga(/etc).
So then I thought some of you might like to have access to the database as I update it throughout the year. I’m not going to make any promises on how up-to-date I’ll be able to keep it, but my hope is that by the end of the year I’ll have a kick-ass compilation of all this handy info.
So here’s the January 1st 1pm (or 1300) edition, first in a simple HTML format, and for those of you who want to fuss with the data any, here’s the XLS spreadsheet file.
I’ll have a new file for each update (format: 08db - MM/DD - HH:MM.html or .xls), and you can always access them at http://giapet.net/08db/. I’ll also have links to the most current ones in the “Stuff” box in the sidebar.
Edit: I’ve also added a link to access the file at Google Documents, if any of you use it. It’s a pretty handy tool.
So! I hope you find these useful. Let me know if you have any suggestions for information to include or other ways to make it helpful. :D
Okay! As promised, here is the Winter 2008 cheat sheet. Hit the jump to see it in this entry (I did my best to make it readable); click here to see a printable version, and this time I decided to make my own Excel spreadsheet of the shows available to you guys. Here it be.
These files feature the titles, Japanese titles, start dates, primary air times, studios, genres, website URLs, and a very short summary for all 23 upcoming TV anime. Hope you find it handy. ♥
Oh, and if you want the full preview, here are parts one, two, and three at Jtor.
This started out as a schedule card, but with all the different stations and stuff I decided to turn it into a more general “cheat sheet” instead. I’ve included the title, premiere date, the earliest scheduled time and day (multiple channels show each series and at different times), the studio, and a brief (usually one sentence) synopsis of the series in question. If you want a version in black and white for printing, you can use this one.
And if you want more details, I’ll plug the full-length version at Japanator one more time: part one, part two, part three.
And while I’m at it…new layout is up! Inspired by (and utilizing) Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei. “Bure bure” is a repeated lyric i the opening theme and it means “twist twist,” by the way.
Righto then, on to the cheat sheet! Read more…
