Anime World Gets Chaos, Head. Wait, That’s ‘Chaos;Head’

Moon Phase reports that the 5bp/Nitroplus visual novel Chaos;Head is being made into an anime; they got the news from the official blog of Comic ALIVE (in which the Zero no Tsukaima and Kanokon manga run).

The game’s tale revolves around Takumi Nishijou, a high school student who stumbles upon a murder…and then additional murders, perpetrated by the same culprit. Now being chased by the murderer, various mysterious events occur and Takumi struggles to work out what’s real and what is merely a delusion.

There’s already a manga of the series, which runs in Dengeki Daioh, and a few crazed fans have offered up a lot more information about the characters and story on Wikipedia, if you’d like. Apparently Kanako Itou, who sang the OP for Hatenkou Yugi and the ending for Myself;Yourself, did the theme songs for the game; maybe she’ll be involved in the anime, too?

New Anime From Hatenkou Yuugi Creator?

01/21/08 0943 hours

According to Moon Phase, an anime based on MariaHolic– a gender-bending school comedy by Minari Endoh, creator of the manga-turned-anime Hatenkou Yuugi (alias Dazzle) –may see an anime adaptation soon.

Hopefully a better one than Hatenkou’s been getting. I wanted the anime to be good so I could recommend it to others, but alas, that clunky first ep had me foiled. (Second ep is better, but doesn’t explain anything more. I recommend reading the manga if you want to clarify all that jazz– seven volumes out in English to date.)

Anyway, if the rumor about Maria Holic is true, it may hit TVs in Japan in January 2009 and feature the same cast as the manga’s drama CDs.
