Credit goes to AnimeSuki forum-goer ChibiGoku for this one: according to Moon Phase’s anime list, Disney’s new show Stitch!– an adaptation of Lilo and Stitch, natch –is taking over Bleach’s timeslot on the TV Tokyo family of TV stations in October.

Now, Bleach airs on a lot of stations, but it’s the TV Tokyo slot that is their main (and first) airing– so are we just looking at a new timeslot, or might the mighty shounen show be gearing up for a little vacation? (It’s possible that the TV series could end, of course, but considering the show’s popularity and its continuing manga, I can’t imagine that’s the plan.)

So the news is that there may be news. I can’t find any information on any of the official Bleach sites yet, but I’ll be keeping a watch, so stay tuned.

Another new Japanese Disney project has been revealed: titled Fireball, it’s a sci-fi TV CG anime set in a distant future, in which two robots live in a mansion together and have odd and amusing lives, apparently.

It’ll be a short-ep series, with each episode running only a couple of minutes in length, and it’ll start airing on April 7th on TOKYO-MX TV (as well as on the Japanese Disney Channel on April 11th).

Disney is producing, and Disney’s Wataru Arakawa is directing and supervising the screenplay. The robots will be designed by Gundam 00’s Hitoshi Fukichi, and the CG director will be Hiroki Kawasaki. The series will also be presented at the Tokyo Anime Fair.

Boy, it’s not very often I get to use Forbes as a source. Nonetheless, the biz pub reports that Disney, in an attempt to reach the Japanese market, is partnering with anime juggernaut Toei to create three new TV shows using Toei’s CG technology (Pixar’s isn’t good enough?).

Disney will also work with Madhouse (yeeha!) and Jinni’s Animation Studios, who have done CG work for Reideen and Idaten Jump, among other TV shows, movies, commercials, etc.

As a result of the movie, Toei– who, if you didn’t know, brought us Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Voltron, and Digimon, among others –saw its stocks rise 3.4%.

Note: Some people have been popping by here and leaving comments lately with some rather funny misconceptions. First off: this is a joke. Zac Efron is not really Kira. Second off: Zac Efron will not receive any notes you leave here for him. I’m not him. I don’t even KNOW him. And I will not make any attempt to forward messages to him.

Okay, I’ll stop with the image board posts after this one, but seriously…who knew? Zac Efron (a.k.a. bland Disney male lead from High School Musical)…yeah, apparently he’s Kira.

Seriously, check the hair. Death Note-tastic.
