Those of you who have been following this blog for a few anime seasons– i.e. those of you who remember my Shugo Chara! layout –know that although I rarely enjoy mahou shoujo anymore, I adore Peach-Pit’s Shugo Chara!. So of course, I was thrilled to hear via 2nn that the series is going to continue through its second year, which will begin this August.

Makoto Kubota’s gag manga Tentai Senshi Sanreddo– about a group of samurai in Kawasagi city planning world domination, while fighting the mysterious organization Furoshaimu (no clue what they’re going for with that katakana phrase, so I’m using the direct transliteration here) and the “ally of justice” Sanreddo (once again, direct transliteration) –is getting an anime adaptation, according to Moon Phase. It’s being created by AIC Asta for fall ‘08, and the series will contain 26 15-minute episodes.
Ultimatum has word of an OVA titled Zettai Shougeki ~Platonic Heart~ (I can’t find a good translation for this particular “shougeki” kanji– a different kanji can mean “shock” –but the “shou” is translated as an important point or moment in time, and “geki” can mean something kind of like “ultra” or “uber,” so maybe something like “Definitely An Ultra-Important Moment”? Anyone else have thoughts?).
I’m having trouble finding a lot of info on this one, but Gigazine notes that the series is a collaboration of 10 companies from different sectors of the market (figures, anime, games, goods, etc). Also, Little Non (who did the infamous Kodomo no Jikan ED theme) is doing the main theme for the anime, titled “Tatsumaki WAVE.”
Also, on the official website, there’s a boob-touching game called BlogParts where you can get a little script to add to your blog. There are a bunch of them: one will go through each of the girls and let them talk…but if you register for the site you can get access to a one for each girl, and you can “touch” her thighs and breasts with the mouse. I’m going to try posting a couple of those under the jump for you.
Anyway! The main point is, we can expect some pervy harem fun whenever this thing comes out.
SaiAni reports that in the next episode of the Vampire Knight radio show is going to feature an announcement: a second season of Vampire Knight is in the works, due to start this October.
I hope it gets a quality boost over the current season. It’s been decent, but occasionally I spot some serious QUALITY…
I don’t know who ANN sucked off to get this news, but Gainax apparently told them about one of their new projects, a TV adaptation of Akahito Yoshiichi’s horror mnaga Shikabane Hime. I’m guessing that this is the serious/”heavy” TV series they mentioned before.
Though this was actually already rumored; a couple of people were discussing it on the AnimeSuki forums after I posted on Gainax’s first panel…but there it is!
Yeah, I know– me? Up late? Posting? NEVER! But I just got back from seeing Speed Racer (my thoughts will appear in the next post) and heard some most excellent news of an entirely different sort: Moon Phase is now reporting that a second season of Nodame Cantabile is set to start airing in October in the Noitamina block (as did the first season, if I remember correctly).

I kinda gave up on Rosario to Vampire, probably after the swim club episode? I never made an intentional decision to drop it; it was just too much fluff and fanservice to really retain my interest. (Not that it was trying to be anything deep, and I have nothing wrong with entertainment being pure fluff; just sometimes I’m not up for it.)
But clearly it was enough for some of y’all, or maybe just some of the Japanese otaku, because ANN reports that a second season, tentatively titled Rosario to Vampire Capu2 (where “2″ is pronounced “tsuu” and therefore very similar to Moka’s “capu-chuu!” thing, is in the works. The new season will air as soon as October and will feature new, anime-only characters.
None of which makes me any more interested in it than before…
