SeattlePI reports that Kicks Hobby Japan has brought their entire 2,000-item stock to the Sakura Con dealer room.
I checked out the shop’s website and now I’m really excited sexually.
So if any of you are hitting up Sakura, there’s a booth you probably ought to check out. ♥
A set of Code Geass chibi-figures featuring the characters as the twelve Zodiac constellations (well, fourteen– they include Opiuchus, the serpent-bearer, plus an unknown secret character) has been released by MegaHouse.
The figures are:
- Aries the Ram - Kallen
- Taurus the Bull - Schneizel (or is it Clovis? I can’t tell– but this is my sign)
- Gemini - Villetta
- Cancer - Suzaku (Ha!)
- Leo - Orenji-kun (err, Jeremiah)
- Virgo - Cecile
- Libra - Euphemia
- Scorpio - Nunally
- Opiuchus - CC
- Sagittarius - Lelouch
- Capricorn - Cornelia
- Aquarius - Lloyd
- Pisces - Ougi
I think the secret character is also Lelouch based on the hair, or I guess maybe it’s Mao?
Okay, this figure of Code Geass’ Cornelia Li Britannia is nice and all (though the woman needs to learn that purple lipstick goes with purple outfits and red goes with red– c’mon, lady), but where’s my hot smexy Nunally figure?!
…for a figure of Shenhua, the Chinese assassin from Black Lagoon whose English is as bad as her knife skills are awesome.
I can’t say I’m especially impressed by the face or hair, but the pose is pretty nice and frankly it’s surprising to see a non-Revy figure from the show (I would have expected a figure of Balalaika first), so if I had money to spare my icon would be teetering on the “cart” button.
Anime Banzai! has the scoop on a life-size figure of Kodomo no Jikan’s chief loli, the cute and somewhat troubled Rin. Honestly I’m a little skeptical that this is really 1:1, it seems a little small for it.
But there’s just something really funny about a life-size Rin. I wonder if she’s anatomically correct?
HobbyStock is now offering preorders of Alpha x Omega’s Kallen and CC figures, and I’m kind of torn (not that I can afford either at the moment). I like CC better as a character, and I also think her pose is sexier. But I think the face came out much better on Kallen, and yes, believe it or not, faces are one of my key elements on a figure. (Hell, I’m almost tempted to buy this because I love the face and hair, even though the rest of the figure is really not the kind of thing I like at all. FACES FTW.)
So, how about you? AxO CC or AxO Kallen? (Those of you who are holding out for Euphie need not apply…unless it’s for psycho!Euphie. Oh, I would pay good money for that figure.)
So, even more than being a fan of Code Geass, I am a fan of Lelouch. He’s like Light, but not so freakin’ obnoxious, and way hotter. And probably a lot sluttier. I have long since come to the conclusion that he has slept with (or would sleep with) ANY character in the show, period, except maybe the Emperor of Britannia (who is voiced by WAKAMOTO! so maybe he would anyway).
Anyway. There are only a few figures of Lelouch these days, mostly SD ones and then a few cheap ones. I don’t really like the cheap ones EXCEPT for this one, the very first one that came out that is no longer in production that I can never freakin’ FIND anywhere! Fortunately for me, a friend of mine went to Japan and was able to find it (at very nearly its original price even), and so now, I have it. So I just wanted to squee at you for a moment. Here is my darling Lulu.
I’m debating whether to bother getting the Suzaku that goes with this or not. Suzaku’s such an obnoxious little bitch. Maybe I should get the stand that goes with it and throw a CC figure on it or something. Hmmm…
Okay, sure, Gundam 00 is going to feature 3 males and 1 slightly butch female when it comes to pilots. And sure, the characters are being designed by Yun Kouga, creator of girly-boy manga like Loveless and Earthian– but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to make a hot chick, and it certainly doesn’t mean we won’t see some smexy figures from the show. Heisei Democracy links to the first-ever Gundam 00 heroine figures (models of the Gundams, of course, have been in the works for ages), made by Banpresto and due out February of 2008.
The figures are of the overly-skinny Wan Ryuumin and Sumeragi Ri Noriega.
A poster on the HongFire forums spotted these scans from a Japanese magazine, illustrating some Lucky Star Nendoroid figures. For those unaware, Nendoroids are a series of figures by the Good Smile Company. The figures are all SD and come with interchangeable faces and props. And they’re AWESOME.
Pictured are the Konata and Kagami figures, which come with animal-form (Konata’s a cat, Kagami’s a bunny), glarey pointy faces and hands (DADADA!), and sweets (Konata has a choco cornet, Kagami has pocky). Also pictured are unpainted versions of Minoru and Akira. It’s hard to tell if they’re going to get full versions or if they’re some kind of accessory (they’re called “nendoroid dobuchi,” and I couldn’t find a translation for “dobuchi”). But it doesn’t matter because Akira has her super-long sleeves. WIN!
