Japan’s Most Popular MMO Goes DS

07/31/08 1103 hours

I bet there are a few current or former Ragnarok Online players reading this, right? (It’s okay, don’t be ashamed. I won’t make fun of you…much.)

Well, the game is expanding to the Nintendo DS, according to 1up– though so far I’m not sure if it’s going to see a North American release; it’s due to hit streets in Japan on December 18th, but no NA release has been offered up so far.

Then again, I’m not sure if the game is still popular here, having only played it for a whopping fifteen minutes total myself. Any RO fans out there able to shed light? Do you think it’d sell here? Hey, how well are those Ragnarok books of TOKYOPOP’s doing, while we’re at it?

Like Soul Eater so far? IGN reports that Square Enix has announced a game based on the manga, titled Soul Eater: Monotone Princess. It’ll be an action/adventure game for the Wii.

Also in video game news, Destructoid rejoices over a release date for Final Fantasy IV’s DS remake: July 22nd. Huzzah! Now maybe I should go back and finish up FFIII

So I was searching around for Ookami to Koushinryou images earlier and instead came across this. Apparently a game based on the series is in the works, for Nintendo DS.

The cool thing about it is the genre: renai and peddling simulation. AWESOME. I want to PEDDLE MY LOVE to a strange pseudo-pre-Renaissance Europe.

Apparently it also comes with a Horo character song CD, a Horo poster, and Horo’s pouch. Definitely want. May 29th! Whee!

A quickie commercial for the new Code Geass game for DS, featuring Ami Koshimizu (Kallen’s seiyuu) demonstrating the order-giving feature of the game. So now you, too, can order around Elevens and Britannians. I wonder if they obey orders like “strip”?
