You may know him best as Chiyo-chan’s dad in Azumanga Daioh, or the Emperor of Britannia in Code Geass, Vicious in Cowboy Bebop, the narrator in Hayate no Gotoku, Father Anderson in Hellsing, Dracula in the Castlevania games, or any of dozens of other roles. But to me, he will always be…WAKAMOTOOOOOOOOO!

(The girl who talks at the beginning, if you can’t tell, is Tomoko Kaneda, the seiyuu who voiced Chiyo-chan in Azumanga. And after that comes Wakamoto-sama, singing “Clementine.” No fooling!)

Shigurui 1

Chuosha has announced that the October issue of Champion Red (due out August 18th) will include an audio CD with a reading of the first chapter from Norio Nanjo’s novel Suruga-jou Gozen Jiai (Suruga Castle Contest), from which the story of Takayuki Yamaguchi’s manga and the newly-airing anime Shigurui came.

And the best part is that the reading will be done by none other than Norio Wakamoto himself. SCORE.
