Just as VIZ has caught up to iTunes, it was announced today at E3 that FUNimation is bringing titles to the PS3, where Sony is creating a new video service. (You’ll have to hit the liveblog play/replay button to find it, at 3:24).

FUNimation is one of several companies involved in the new service, which also includes Sony Pictures (of course), Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox, and MGM. And the new content is going to be available TONIGHT, so I’ll let you know what FUNi has up, how much it is, etc. as soon as I can. Better ugprade the ol’ PS3 firmware today.

My older-brother site Giant Bomb has a nice E3 twitterfeed going, for those of you who want the updates but can’t sit around reloading Destructoid all day…and the latest is that Final Fantasy XIII is going to hit the Xbox 360 as well as the Playstation 3, a long-hinted at but never officially confirmed detail that’s sure to make 360-owning RPG fans very happy (and possibly some PS3 purchasers, presumably those who bought it primarily FOR the next Final Fantasy installment, rather unhappy).

Unrelatedly: Rock Band 2 epic track list is epic.

MegaZone 23

Megazone 23, the hit 1985 (and 1987, and 1989) OVA that took the idea of a computer-generated idol and the idea of a computer-generated world and fused them into one of the most profitable OVAs ever, is now coming soon to a Playstation 3 near you (or not, for those of us who have yet to shell out $500-600 for the thing). Judging from the screenshots over at ITmedia, it’s going to be part fighter, part dating sim. (They prefer the term “Sci-Fi Command Battle Adventure.”)

The official website is already open, with a lot of annoyingly loud music and sounds, plus a pending trailer.
