Don’t get me wrong– I like Jpopper Utada Hikaru a fair bit. But this photo from Kotaku of Hikaru biting her Nintendo DS just brings up too many memories of otaku queen Shokotan eating her cat. But cat-eating is way cuter than electronics-eating, don’t you think?

Hikaru should stick to being superior to Shokotan music-wise (Shokotan sings, but as far as I know doesn’t write her own music, as Hikaru does) instead of trying to one-up her on photos of putting strange things in her mouth, if you ask me.

Japan can never get enough of Shoko Nakagawa, the 22-year-old uber-otaku/seiyuu/songstress, it seems. The Yomiuri reports that she’ll be appearing on a new TV show called Woogie Boogie, and that her 4koma comic strip is being made into an anime. Will wonders never cease? When do I get MY own anime?

…I guess I’ll have to start a 4koma…
