So! Yaoi Jamboree, the newest yaoi convention, took place in Phoenix, AZ this weekend, and here is an early report– including the news that Digital Manga Publishing, parent company of both Juné Manga and 801 Media, is going to open a brand-new yaoi shop online.

The URL will be Yaoi-Club.com, and it’s set to open up in September. (If you go to the link now, you’ll be prompted for a login, which I doubt any of us have.)

Juné also announced new licenses: Color (pictured above), by Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou, and I don’t know the mangaka for the rest of these, but here they are: Living For Tomorrow, Midnight Blue, Brilliant Blue, and the novel Fevered Kiss, all due out in September 2009.

Aoi Futaba and Kurenai Mitsuba, the creators of Level C and A King’s Lesson (as well as doujinshi co-creators) are the newest two guests to be confirmed for Yaoi Jamboree this June in Phoenix.

The con will also feature a charity auction to benefit 1Voice, an LGBT community center in Phoenix. They’re also handing out free passes to the convention at Phoenix Pride, a Phoenix-based gay pride event.

Phoenix Pride is obviously not an anime convention. Many (probably most) people in the gay community aren’t familiar with yaoi. We want Yaoi Jamboree to be a welcoming environment for gay, bi, yaoi fan-girls, and the ‘y-curious.’

Cool beans, especially on the charity auction.
